FAQ

SAFETY - STANDARDS

  • Can you drop the load during the lift?

No. The hook cannot open when it's loaded with more than 55lbs. Power supply of the opening mechanism is switched off during the lift, up until the load is set down.

  • Is it compliant with American standards?

Yes. The hooks are OSHA compliant and have passed a certification program including all required American and Canadian standards such as ASME (mechanical), FCC & IC (RF & EMC) and UL & CSA (electrical).

  • What is the safety factor

Safety factor is 3 according to requirements of ASME B30.20 for “Below the hook lifting device”

  • What happens if I’m running out of battery?

When battery gets low the LED will flash red on the side of the hook, it’s then time to recharge. If you decide to go for extra miles and fully discharge the battery, the hook will stay locked and you will have to unhook through the safety latch… like in the old days!

  • On the remote what are the colors for?

The “All color” key will enable opening all hooks at once whereas the red, blue, yellow and green keys allow you to open one hook at a time

OPERATIONAL

  • How many lifts can I perform with a fully charged hook?

Plenty indeed. Even with 100 lifts per day you will be able to operate for more than a week. Most customers charge it over the week-end for ease of mind.

  • How heavy can I lift in multi leg set up?

It really depends on your set up but if you were to use 4 hooks XL on the same remote, you could lift up to 88,000lbs on a 4 legs vertical basket hitch for instance.

  • What size of wire ropes or lifting chains can I use?

You can use wire ropes or lifting chains up to 5/8” with 4,400lbs WLL hook and up to 1-3/8” with 11,600lbs WLL hook

  • Can I use synthetic slings?

Yes. Any 2” 2-ply synthetic sling will fit with the 4,400lbs WLL and up to 4” 2-ply with the 11,600lbs WLL hook

  • Can I "christmas tree” with my hooks?

Yes. You can release one hook at a time with the colour code on the remote. After you set down your first load, you can release the corresponding hook while others will remain locked, up in the air.
